Gazing into the sky, painted with the little shiny stars, I
stop to wonder how many of them are down on this planet! With minute on minute
facebook (:)
feeds, it amazes me to see the shining talents all around… novices to experts
in varied areas, with unique talents and interesting approaches. Feels good to
be a part of such a talented world but at the same time it leaves you drained
to see the alarmingly increasing negative impact of human beings on their
peers, children, kith & kin, and top it all to our beloved nature!
Why so, is the question that lingers…how and
when will this realization hit every individual is a point to ponder. We no
more have the luxury of time to realize & rectify at our own pace because
the Nature is catching up with us already. From what we see, she is fast &
furious! By the way, it’s not only trespassing nature’s boundaries but also an
individual’s (known to unknown, related to acquaintance, infant to the oldest,
poorest to the richest, abled to differently-abled, whoever) boundary.
So what do we do other than repenting, blaming, criticizing,
being a cynic? Not that I’ve a magical wand to fix it all or get us a feasible
solution; but what I do is my bit…and do note that I may not have perfected in
these but still the moment I realize something is amiss, I try to fix it… Starting
from the simplest of things:
- Not
throwing any dirt anywhere else other than the dustbin (J
there are many who would want to throttle my throat for the endless
reminders I give them on this)
- Not
wasting water
- Minimize
the wastage of food (yet to reach the ‘Don’t waste a morsel’ stage)
- Try to
reuse / give any remains (food, dress, etc) to the wanted
- Encourage
recycling (Daffy, my friend, cheers to your idea of recycled bags)
- Save electricity
whenever possible – by merely switching off when not in use
- Converting
to paper bags / cloth bags etc from
use of plastic bags (just started)
- Not to
tamper with trees / plants & teach kids not to tamper with plants
- Plant
small greens
- Learning
to Respect every human being for What they are
- Learning
to Accept every human being As they are {novice-> intermediate as of
now}
- Need
an immediate STOP on my road rage – I mean my response to the never-ending
atrocious traffic behavior in any place that I’ve visited so far…
- Practicing
not to hurt people by my reactions {mainly when am irritated}
- Learning
from kids all age (observe them and touch back on your deep-hidden kid-corner)
- Constantly
be aware of my slips, mistakes, boundary crossings & realize the need
to change myself
Not a mere ‘wish list’ but seriously I am doing or trying to do them… There’s many more yards to travel personally… But for all of us, I would like to depart with a small
thought of mine “Let’s not see ourselves
catching our breath in this race against Nature…” Do your bit!
