Current trend or should I say fashion is to talk about
‘womens’ liberation’ mostly without a proper understanding of what it all
means! Because to me it’s a necessity to look at both sides of the coin always!
While talks are on about womens’ liberations, womens’ day,
womens’ troubles and so on, on every media and social forums, do we really
notice those men who stand out! Men who see, treat, and ensure women are at par
with them in all means & ways. Probably fractions in number, but aren't they undermined? Don’t they
deserve recognition and applauds for being different?
Personally, I can vouch for few such men whom I had the
pleasure to know, some as acquaintance, some in near & dear groups, and
some in close quarters…What makes them different? Easily, their sense of RESPECT to the women-folks in life be it their wife or
friends or family members or colleagues or acquaintances or anyone else! And it
doesn’t end there but their uniqueness comes in because they live by their understanding.
To them, men & women are equal – both are eligible for their
likes/dislikes, choices, freedom, thoughts, decisions, responsibilities, etc.
They stand out because of their efforts to ensure women
in their life are happy - by including them and giving them their due in
every aspect of life be it enjoyment, decision making, choices, discussions.
Above all, they travel a mile ahead and don’t stop at merely recognizing the pains
of women-hood but share the pains in their own way! The real
topping is their attempts to pull forward those women who still choose to stay
blind of the pleasure in being an equal due to all these years of conditioning!
What more do we genuinely, as women, yearn for? Nothing but
acceptance as individuals! Isn’t it? That’s what precisely these men provide us
with… Despite difference of opinions, thoughts, approaches, choices, they ensure
we are not their doormats but equals!
Here, I take a bow to all these men! Yup, I know that they
are supposed to do this but amongst a majority of non-conformers, these few men
deserve to be appreciated because they can make the difference
for which we are supposedly fighting for! Last but not the least, we all know none of us are perfect...so, these men too may lack a few things but I choose to see their positives :)
After a battle of whether or not to take names, I thought
they deserve to be mentioned :) Some who top my list are: Gopakumar, Biswas,
Sandeep, Sajeen, Ragesh, PD Gopakumar, Berkin, Vivek, Prabu, Ramesh, Maheswaran,
GRB, Guru, Sunil nair, Vasu, RR, Madhavan, Abi, Kaushik, Atul,
Raj, Anand, KP, Anand, Sunil Pathak, Mathew Varghese…
Now that’s a list to reckon with! Am sure there are many more out there – known to
me or unknown… though your names don’t figure here, you know you are part of
this list too!
Hats off guys! You are the difference and You can make a
world of difference!
