Memory Lane of 2011 : A Quick Glimpse

Days are gone when we used to really feel the presence of 12 months in a year! Nowadays, before you finish saying ‘Happy new year’ you are already getting ready to greet the next year… Today, when am publishing this blog its already 1^st Feb 2012, one month past in the new year!!!

2011 has been different and happening in many ways: lots of happiness, learnings, and memories - all worth a quick walk down the memory lane:

• Every year begins with birthday celebrations and continues throughout, giving us the much needed break and a time to get together and have some fun.

•  One of the major highlights of the year ofcourse was the launch of our second short film ‘The Ballad of the Waves’, which received rave reviews and many more fans to Lensmangops Pictures! Experiences galore during the shoot, arranging for preview, and the final launch… The most memorable ones being the recognition we received this year: One from the veteran actor/director Mr.Pratap Pothen,Two from Friends of Cinema (FOC) group in Mumbai recognized us and screened our short film in National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and in AVM Preview Theater, Chennai, Three an IMDB Entry with a 8.4 Rating!

• The Second Quarter of the year was packed with some unforgettable trips to Bangalore, Theni/Meghamalai, Pondichery, Yercadu, and Delhi [@Delhi: the train travel after a long time and time spent shopping, with friends, @ Reena’s place, Pebble Street, the dog bite! Wow!] Each trip had its own fun and will be a blog in itself… will relive the moments with some snaps here.

• Had a blast in the very first womens’ day out, and plans are intact to continue this in 2012 as well.

• A year that saw my dear friend’s brand ‘Daffysdream’ getting established – congrats to Priya on her efforts and various exhibitions she participated in. Best wishes for more success in future.

• Another new start @ Lensmangops Pictures. Yup, we began with building the assets including a Cannon 7D and others. Thanks to all friends who didn't hesitate a moment to bring things from abroad to us. We followed it with kick-starting our third short film which has been an exciting, roller-coaster ride and by far the most enriching experience in our film making. Special thanks to the cast and crew for making this happen! Love you all :)

 

• Friends visiting us or the vice-versa is always fun... Some friends of ours visited us during their yearly vacation from various places armed with their gifts, especially the most precious time of theirs. Thanks all for the lovely time we had together. Looking forward to the same every year!
  

• After a long gap, the year when I finally managed to spend some time with Vidya on her birthday, hopefully she enjoyed it, and also a day well spent with Nitya and kids, Swarna, Viji, and Hruti - the unforgettable 'Golu Shopping'!

• 2011 finally gave a break to my Santro :) Yup, I started driving alone... Can hear the sigh from many quarters ;) still better late than never, right?:) Also, started off trying hands in photography - that's a very hi-fi term for novices like me - so, I chose to call it as my 'amateur clicks'

• Wading through the year with Ups & Downs, barely when the year had begun, it was already December 2011!!! End of the year had the most exhilarating and beautiful experience in store… Yup, the year ended with us welcoming a sweet little bee into our Lensman’s Family, the little lensman! He came with a bang (had to:), along with the ‘Thane’:) 2012 began with welcoming onboard our chotta packet, Mr.Anjan Swaroop:) 

 

Passage of time is definitely not in anyone’s hand … and the reality is that ‘time just flies’ – so make the most of it…
